Hunter Safety
NEWS from the HUNTER EDUCATION PROGRAM:
Beginning October 15th, 2020 and running through December 31st, 2020 , the DNR will offer a temporary online-only hunter education course for students under the age of 18 (100% online certification). The online-only option was previously only offered to students 18 years of age or older. This temporary change is an additional option for those under the age of 18 to obtain hunter education safety certification. People of any age can continue to enroll in traditional hunter education and hunter internet field day courses. Both the traditional hunter education and hunter internet field day courses will continue to have an in-person requirement to obtain hunter education safety certification.
The temporary online-only hunter education safety certification option will provide additional hunter education availability to all our customers affected by COVID-19 and aligns our program with many hunter education programs in other states that already offer a similar option. This option meets the needs of our customers and provides an additional option for parents to choose the best fit for their child.
