Founded in 1925, our club is affiliated with the NRA, and supports a varety of shooting sports and marksmanship activities for our members from the Southern WI/Northern IL stateline area.

Work Day Schedule 2021

General Work Days
Saturday, April 37am – 3:30pm
Install and repair new targets and frames on Main Range and 100-Y, 500-M Ranges Outback. Clean and pick up garbage on all ranges. Clean Clubhouse and Indoor Range. Repair rain gutters on main range and other ranges as appropriate. Repair Gate C. Remove old target lights from main range and install new LED lights.
Saturday, May 17am – 3:30pm
Install two new LED Parking Lot lights. Scrape / brush main Archery Tower and tables and stain. Repair Archery Walk Through Tower railings. Power wash Archery Walk Through Tower. Repair Archery Walk Through 3D targets (steel rods holding targets in ground) and back stops. Replace table tops on Defense Range (Qty 5) with 5/4 lumber. Build two new paper target holders for Defense Range. Repair front BRC Welcome Sign near Gate B. Empty trash from trash cans on entire range (including back range). Cut 2 X 4 X 8 ft studs for two new outhouses.
Saturday, June 57am – 3:30pm
Stain Archery walk through Tower.  Replace rain gutters on south side of Indoor Range. Build 6 portable wood target stands to fit in the 50 yard target holders on the back range. Other misc. jobs.
Saturday, July 107am – 3:30pm
Work day starts at 7:00 am until 3:30 pm. We will meet at the Main Clubhouse. As with all work days, if you want to bring your own specialized tools, you are welcome too.  The planned worked includes the following jobs, weather and size of work crew dependent:

– Seal gap at roof line between back lean-to shed and maintenance garage. 
– Repair flag pole at Pistol range. 
Build lean-to on Black Powder Lodge for firewood storage. 
Concrete repair of safety wall at back end of the archery range. 
– Clearing brush along parking lot behind Archery and on top lot. 
– Staining the wood landing on the stairs going to the upper parking lot. 
– Staining benches and tables at the Black Powder Range. 
– Drain rock from the two safety walls on the main range. 
– Build Safety wall for Black Powder Primitive Range.

Also, there will be a variety of small jobs throughout the day.

Saturday, September 117am – 3:30pm
Work day starts at 7:00 am until 3:30 pm. We will meet at the Main Clubhouse. As with all work days, if you want to bring your own specialized tools, you are welcome too.  The planned worked includes the following jobs, weather and size of work crew dependent:

-Finish staining legs of two Black Powder tables (1-2 people)
-Finish Concrete repair of safety wall at back end of Archery Range. (After Archery league finishes at 11:00 am)
-Electrical wiring to East Bay Range Shack and East Cowboy Outhouse.
-Cut 2x4x8 ft studs from 2X8 lumber stack (qty 100)
-Begin building outhouses at Black Powder and Silhouette.
-Weed wack berms on Archery Range (After Archery league finishes at 11:00 am) and Main Range as needed.
-Disassemble the old wooden panels at the end of the Archery Range. (After Archery league finishes at 11:00 am)
-Empty trash throughout range.
-Paint shooting tables on outdoor pistol range.
-Trench from Cowboy Maintenance Shed to adjacent outhouse and install conduit. Electrical wiring between Cowboy Lodge, Cowboy Maintenance Shed and adjacent outhouse.
-Remove and reposition chain link fence in front of new storage shed on front range.
-Clean rain gutter on north side of indoor range and seal leaky joint.

Also, there will be a variety of small jobs throughout the day.

Saturday, October 27am – 3:30pm
Oct 2, 2021 General Work Day
The Oct 2nd work day starts at 7:00 am and goes until 3:30 pm. Come for a full 8 hours or only part of the day if your schedule so dictates. Lunch will be provided. Some construction work is included in the days plans and the club will provide necessary tool, but if you would like to bring personal tools (cordless drills, saws, etc,) that is also encouraged. We have lots of staining/painting to complete so old clothes is encouraged.

– Repair target frames on 25, 50 and 100 yd ranges for Sight-In days.
– Repair swivel seats on Main Range and Back Range with new clips and lanyards.
– Continue electrical wiring on the Cowboy Action Maintenance Shed and adjacent Outhouse and East Bay Range Shed and adjacent East Cowboy Outhouse.
– Cut 2x4x8 ft studs from 2X8 lumber stack for storage in garage and Silhouette Outhouse.
– Roof and paint the new Blackpowder Outhouse
– Install new paddles on Plinking Range Dueling Tree.
– Disassemble the old wooden panels at the end of the Archery Range.
– Empty trash throughout range.
– Build new covers for outside wood stacks using old steel siding and 2X lumber.
– Start building the new Outhouse behind the Silhouette Range.
– Steel brush and paint the steel deflectors on the 25, 50 and 100 yd Main Ranges.
– Install new hangers on rain gutters on north side of indoor range.

Work items may be changed/updated due to weather and other needs. 

Personal tools and equipment are always welcome.

Individual ranges will be closed based on work schedule.
