• What is metallic silhouette shooting? Metallic silhouette shooting is a group of target shooting disciplines that involves shooting at steel targets representing game animals at varying distances, seeking to knock the metal target over.
• What kind of rifle do I need? At Beloit Rifle Club we are shooting Smallbore rifle silhouette. Any rifle chambered in 22LR is good to get started. After a few practice sessions and/or matches every new shooter will start having an understanding of what kind of rifle may fit him better. Always ask questions, we will be happy to answer or to let anyone try our equipment. Most common setup is a bolt action rifle with a scope of medium / high magnification.
• How about ammunition? Please use only standard or high velocity ammunition. Anything more then 1200fps may damage the targets. No magnum and/or stinger rounds are allowed on the range.
