Beloit Rifle Club 2020 Civilian Marksmanship Program

Garand/Springfield/Vintage/Modern Military Match

Open to all Beloit Rifle Club members as well as U.S. citizen non-members

The match that the Beloit Rifle Club hosts is the Garand – Springfield – Modern Military Match Course B. The match is 50 rounds for record, plus sighters. If you are new to the sport, there are sanctioned clinics to help you get started.  Match dates for 2020 are: April 25 (match and clinic), May 17, June 21, Aug. 16 and Sept. 20. All matches are sanctioned. Fees are $10 for Beloit Rifle Club members and $15 for nonmembers. Loaner AR’s are available.

Location: 899 Philhower Rd. Use Gate C (next to Ozinga gate) to enter for the CMP Garand/Springfield/Vintage/Modern Military Match shoots. Follow road to range on left.

Course of Fire: G-S-M-M Course B at 100 yards with reduced targets.

  • Slow fire prone (20 rounds in 20 minutes)
  • Rapid fire, standing to prone (10 rounds in 80 seconds)
  • Rapid fire, standing to sitting (10 rounds in 70 seconds)
  • Slow fire, standing (10 rounds in 10 minutes)


  • $10 per match for Beloit Rifle Club members
  • $15 per match for non-members
  • $5 per match for juniors

Time and location:

Sunday mornings at the Beloit Rifle Club. Check in begins 7:00 A.M. First relay begins at 8:00 A.M.

**CMP Clinic Information
If you would like to learn more about the matches and shooting instruction, the Civilian Marksmanship Program has a sanctioned Garand, Springfield, Military clinic on April 25th. The clinic covers rifle safety, range procedures, course of fire, shooting positions, shot technique, and a little about CMP’s competitions and sales programs. Clinics are taught by CMP Master Instructors.  A match will be held after the classroom portion. Contact Greg Davis at 815-762-2041 to register for the class.  

Participants of Civilian Marksmanship Program’s sanctioned Clinics or Garand
Springfield Military matches receive a certificate, that with membership of an affiliated club (Beloit Rifle Club is affiliated) or organization, become eligible to purchase rifles and ammo from CMP.  Club level pins are awarded in the Garand, Carbine, Springfield, Vintage Military and Modern military rifles (i.e. AR-15).
