Founded in 1925, our club is affiliated with the NRA, and supports a varety of shooting sports and marksmanship activities for our members from the Southern WI/Northern IL stateline area.

General Work Day Schedule 2025

Saturday, April 5

7am – 3:30pm

The first General Work Day at the Beloit Rifle Club for 2025 is scheduled for Saturday April 5th from 7:00 am until 3:30 pm. Scheduled work includes but is not limited to:

  • Replacing target boards as needed on the Main Range and rear 100M-500M Range
  • Steel target maintenance on the rear 100M-500M Range
  • Installing additional clear vinyl sound curtains on the west end on the Main Range
  • Picking up trash on Philhower Rd
  • Reinstalling and servicing the wash stations in the Porta-Potties on the Front Range
  • General range cleanup and other miscellaneous projects

Lunch will be provided for all workers who plan on working all day. As usual, the club will provide all tools necessary for the Work Day, but if you have personal cordless hand tools that you could bring, that would be helpful and appreciated.

No advance signup for the Work Day is necessary. We will have a sign-in sheet in the clubhouse that morning to sign-in.

Saturday, May 3

7am – 3:30pm

At the General Work Day held on May 3rd , we had 13 workers.Jobs completed included:

1) Cleaning all the rain gutter on the Clubhouse, old Indoor Range and the Main Range.
2) Cleaned up old CMP Backstop on front range and salvaged a considerable amount of lumber off the old backstop to use on future projects.
3) Installed a new Bollard on the parking lot outside of the Main range Shed.
4) Sprayed Roundup around the Outdoor Pistol Range to kill unwanted grass and weeds.
5) Cleaned lead in the new Indoor Range.
6) Sorted and restacked old lumber near the Main Range 100 yard berm.
7) Weed wacked around the Outdoor Pistol Range and trimmed grass throughout the front range.
8) Trimmed brush around edges of the front range. 
9) Installed a new parking lot light on the Main Range Shed to provide better lighting in the parking lot.
10) Repaired/braced shelves in the Kitchen cabinets.
11) Repaired and reinstalled the sign at the Defense Range.
12) Built 8 new wooden target stands or the Defense range and East Bay Ranges.
13) Repaired table by he 500M Shooting Shed.
14) Steel brushed tables, shooting benches and seats throughout the back 500M, Defense and East Bay Ranges in preparation for painting.

Saturday, June 7

7am – 3:30pm

Planned work includes:

1) Painting/staining tables, shooting bench seats and benches on the Defense Range, East Bay Range and the 500M Range.

2) Cleaning out the Storage Shed on the Front Range and sorting and re-stacking all the leftover Action Target Indoor Range components for the eventual second story on the new Indoor Range.

We will need many strong workers to help along with the Skid Steer to restack the materials and to regain considerable storage space in the building. This is for people with strong arms and backs as heavy lifting will be involved.

Workers who can’t provide this type of help can do the painting in item 1 above.

As usual, lunch will be provided for workers who work all day.

Saturday, July 12

7am – 3:30pm

Planned work includes:
Most of the Work scheduled will be on the Back Range and Cowboy Ranges and will be coordinated by Range Construction Assistant Director Bruce Nygren. Please meet at the Clubhouse at 7:00 am to sign in. If you come after 7:15 am, please proceed to the Cowboy Range to meet up with the work crews. There will be some limited work being performed on the Front Range including some small painting jobs, front chain link fence repair and Main Range target repair.

As usual, lunch will be provided for those who work the entire day.

Saturday, August 2

7am – 3:30pm

Planned work includes:
1) Lead cleanout of the new indoor range
2) General cleanup and preparation for the August 16th Open House.
3) Trim brush on the 500M Range road (afternoon)
4) Weed whacking the backs of the berms on the Main Range
5) Spraying Roundup around buildings edges and on the Outdoor Pistol Range
6) Improvements on the safety rail near the main entrance to the Main Range
7) Improvements on the handicap entrance to the Main Range 
8) Install new target boards on the 25 yd range on the Main Range 

We meet in the Clubhouse at 7:00 am. Lunch will be provided for all who work the entire day. No special tools are needed, but personal weed Wackers and brush cutting tools could be help full.
